Item/Description: Original painting in cool colors depicts a plaza market scene. Signed lower right Pescina,
Aurelio Pescina (Mexican, 1938-1990) Even as a child, he was interested in painting. His paintings resonate with vibrant colors, impressionistic pointillism and bold brush stokes. Through the use of simplified figures, he captures the essence of daily life in provincial Mexico as it existed during his lifetime. He began his studies in the School of Painting and at the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes, and participated in the creation of the murals at the National Museum of Anthropology.
