Mid-18th century two-handled punch strainer, Jacob Hurd, Boston, MA, circa 1740-50, having handles of a design popular in Boston during this time, engraved ropework motif on rim, and repeating circular design with crosses in bowl. Two maker's marks ''HURD'' in rectangular cartouche, one on each handle. One handle with an old repair and reinforcement. 11-1/4''l, 4-5/8''dia. Total approximate weight 4.8 troy oz.
