Set of (4) very fine George II sterling silver candlesticks, Benjamin Sanders, London, England, circa 1740-41, having shafts cast with multiple knops of varying dimensions, shallow concave wells at the feet, and square canted bases with strong gadrooning. Although dating from the early 1740's, the set is fashioned in the earlier William and Mary style. The cast elements are of a heavy, substantial gauge. All fully hallmarked inside bases with Lion Passant below each nozzle. Lion Passant marks worn on nozzles. 6-5/8''h, 4-1/8''sq. Total approximate weight 75.0 troy oz.
