Pierre Bizot’s ‘Medalische Historie’ is a rare, 17th-century history of the commemorative medals that were made during in Holland from 1566 to 1689. The illustrations in this book make it highly desirable – engravings of coins, medals, tombs, sepulchers, and portraits. Note that some of the coins features views of ships, naval battles, city views, and maps.
It should be noted that this work includes mentions of the coronation of English royalty – William III and Queen Mary II.
