Condition: These vintage Peace Silver Dollars, with dates ranging from 1922 to 1935, are a noteworthy addition to any coin collection, celebrated for their historical significance and the role they played in American history. Each coin contains approximately 0.7734 ounces of pure silver. The obverse features a profile of Liberty facing left, adorned with a radiate crown reminiscent of those found on ancient Roman coins. The reverse showcases a majestic bald eagle perched on a rock, holding an olive branch in its talons, symbolizing peace. The specific year of these coins is 1922, and they are classified as cull, indicating they show significant wear or other condition issues, making each piece uniquely historic. The year of the coin will be selected based on our current inventory and may vary. The Peace Dollar, minted sporadically from 1921 to 1935, stands out for having one of the shortest minting periods among U.S. currency and being the last silver dollar minted. This design, the brainchild of Anthony di Francisci, emerged victorious in a competition to find a new dollar coin design. Di Francisci drew inspiration from the Statue of Liberty for his depiction of Lady Liberty, instilling the coin with a sense of patriotism. The olive branch-clutching eagle on the reverse commemorates the peace following World War I. With a denomination of 1 Dollar and a .900 purity, these coins, produced by the US Mint, measure 3.1 mm in thickness and 38.1 mm in diameter, embodying a piece of numismatic and American history.------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------- --When you enroll or participate in bidding at a Hibido Coins auction, you are indicating that you have reviewed, grasped, and consent to adhere to our policies on shipping, payment, and how our auctions are conducted.
