This circa late 1945 U.S. Property Remington Rand Model 1911 A1 semi-auto pistol with custom sights/grip straps is in overall very good to near fine condition as re-finished displaying approximately 95% black blued finish to the gun's parts with brightly polished barrel assembly, hammer & trigger. The extended BO MAR target sights & ramp affixed to the top of the gun's slide show an adjustable rear sight & fixed front sight extending 1-3/4" beyond the muzzle of the pistol. Both the front grip strap & the back grip strap have been modified (front strap with added stippled metal wrap while the rear strap has been hand stippled). The checkered brown hardwood grips are near fine & appear to be of a later vintage. The markings are visible on the right side of the frame (with the exception of the crossed cannons proof); the left side of the slide markings are light while the left side "FJA" and "P" proofs on the frame are distinct. The action is strong & the bore/rifling are fine.
