U.S. Model 1906 Light Cavalry Saber by Ames
About 34" blade. 43.25" overall with hilt and scabbard. Single edge curved blade with straight point, 27" wide off center fullers, and 17.5" quill fullers to both sides. Item features a steel scabbard with double hangers and a three branch steel hilt. Grip is grooved and covered with black leather. Ricassos are marked A.S. Co/{flaming bomb}/1906 to right side and U.S./J.H.C. on left side for inspector James H. Clayton.

Condition
About fair to good. Blade has a mottled appearance due to sprinkled clusters of pitting overall. Scabbard shows thinning, scratching, and sprinkled pitting overall. Steel hilt has thinned areas, oxidation, and scratching overall. Grips show dust residue, wear, and minor losses.
