British Pattern 1871 Martini-Henry Mk. II Rifle
Zulu Wars
.577-450. 33" barrel length. SN: NSN. Blued metal finish with receiver left in the white mounting walnut straight wrist stock with two barrel bands. Single-shot dropping block action rifle mounting adjustable rear ladder and front blade sights. Right receiver is struck {Crown/V.R.} the royal cipher indicating it was produced during the reign of Queen Victoria, followed by ENFIELD/1878 above the {Lock Viewer's Mark}, and finally II. indicating the pattern. Left receiver and barrel at breech feature the standard firing proof markings with further inspection marks to the barrel bands, triggerguard, lever, and buttplate. Right butt stamped II/94/FORT WILLIAM ARSENAL/2. Barrel marked N.S/NEP below the rear sight with the right butt struck with Nepalese markings, both this latter set of marks indicating the weapon entered Nepalese service.

Condition
Very Good. Bore is Frosty with brown patina and strong rifling throughout. Top of the breechblock retains some blued finish with further traces of blue along the edges of the stock. Metalwork primarily shows an even and deep brown patina with some mottling over the lever and stock fittings. Stock displays scattered handling wear, mars, and dents.
