Remington New Model Police
.36 Caliber. 4.5" barrel length. SN: 12472. Blued metal finish with brass triggerguard mounting varnished walnut grips, and featuring an octagonal barrel with half-moon front brass blade and topstrap notch sights. Single-action five-shot percussion revolver featuring safety notches between each chamber on the cylinder, and with all frame screws entering from the right. Top of the barrel shows the three-line address and patent mark reading PATENTED SEPT. 14. 1858/E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, NEW YORK U.S.A./NEW-MODEL. Marking is slightly off center. A matching serial number is marked in pencil on the left grip panel.

Condition
Fair to Good. Bore is Frosty with patina throughout and crisp rifling. Metal finish is a deep brown patina overall with some rounding to the edges on the barrel and frame. Triggerguard fails to fit flush. Loading lever lug appears to be a hand made replacement. Grips fit tightly with some rounding at the edges and light handling mars. Action does not function as it fails to disengage the cylinder stop, and the hammer cannot lock fully to the rear.
